hi team! how are we doing? haha!
I realized I hadn’t done an october newsletter yet and uhhh just trying to pass the time tonight…
I often find myself wondering if making art is important or worthwhile on days like today. like if somebody said to me “I’m worried about how the election will affect my staged reading at the tank” I would be like ????????
but over the past month I think about how art has made me feel so connected to so many different people, artists and non-artists alike. I traveled to a new state and met storytellers from all over the world. I’ve been walking and subway-ing all over the city, picking up bags of used clothes from people generous enough to donate them. I’m working on a new show with fantastic collaborators. making art has brought me so much that I am grateful for. being excited to make new things is what keeps me going.
so if you want some things to do over the next two months where you can meet new people too, keep reading!!
1319 press makers market on 11/17!
my instagram caption was “frothing at the mouth with excitement about this” and like…yeah I have to repeat that because it’s so true. I am so, SO excited for the press’s first in-person event!!! there will be at least 30 pounds of used clothes there that I have already picked up from some wonderful (and fashionable) donors as well as all the other things listed above!! there will also be flash tattoos by @genuine_soup (there will be new flash for the event but check out her art!! it’s gorgeous!!) so if you also feel the urge to permanently alter your appearance during a time of crisis…baby we gotchu!! tldr please come :) I’ll be there the whole time so stop by and say hello <3
tickets on sale for the hand that feeds you!
it’s real! it’s happening! december 5-22! tickets available here!! use code “earlybird” for $35 tickets until nov. 24th! also, we are working on confirming these dates, but there most likely will be 2 performances where masks will be required for the audience. those dates will hopefully be sunday 12/15 and thursday 12/19.
we also did a GORGEOUS photo shoot with the cast at the beginning of october, shot by samori etienne (hire this man. seriously) on site at albanese meats & poultry in nolita — a butcher shop that’s been in the same family for four generations. to see those images soon drop a follow to forager’s instagram!
austin film festival!
insertion won its category at the austin film festival! this is especially crazy to me because I was under the impression that “finalist” was the last round of the competition and the awards luncheon was just a nice way to score some free chicken piccata. so you can imagine my surprise at orientation when I discovered this was not the case.

thank you so much to everyone who sent love about this news :) it still feels very surreal but mostly warm & fuzzy and I just really freaking love this play about virginity and sexuality and p*nises being scary.
anyways! that’s october. i hope november is half as good for many, many reasons. we’ll see what tomorrow brings. i love you!
Justice for Nelly 🥺🫡
